Also known as a breadboard, a proof-of-concept prototype usually does not incorporate any product styling and is only intended to demonstrate the basic mechanism of the product. We create proof-of-concept prototypes to test intended designs without attempting to simulate the visual appearance, choice of materials, or intended manufacturing process. These prototypes are used to “prove” out a potential design approach such as range of motion, mechanics, sensors, architecture, etc. Our development team uses these types of models to validate design options and to determine where further development and testing is necessary. This type of prototype is our engineering team’s final check for design flaws and last-minute improvements to the product. |
