:: A plastic sheet is heated to a high enough temperature that it can be formed into or onto a mold, cooled to a finished shape, and trimmed to create a usable product::
For lower production volumes, thermoforming provides a cost-effective alternative to injection molding because it utilizes inexpensive tooling. Using vacuum forming, pressure forming, or twin sheet fabrication followed by advanced finishing techniques, our engineers can produce prototypes with large structural parts, tight adherence to specifications, and sharp detail.
We used twin-sheet pressure forming in our design of the Fluid Management AT8000 Paint Dispenser. The process involved forming two sheets of plastic together and injecting expandable foam in between the sheets to create an intense bond. The finished product is lightweight and durable.
