:: A process in which a liquid material is poured into a mold that contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify::
We use casting for complex shapes that require added strength, and, depending on the production volume and part size, create molds from various materials, including sand, steel, aluminum, ceramic, plaster, and graphite.
For our design of the Thermo Scientific Peristaltic Pump, we chose an all-aluminum die-cast to provide ruggedness and durability. The product needed to withstand extreme environmental conditions. Our team designed around strict industry requirements and combined a variety of product features to improve operation and reduce manufacturing cost.
